It’s no secret that any girl needs a varied wardrobe for all seasons. Unfortunately, shopping can be majorly expensive if you don’t do it right. We also have to battle huge crowds and long lines. What’s a girl to do? How can we look fabulous without draining our paycheck? When should we shop–and how? Hopefully, this article will help you get your shop on without breaking the bank.
Shop in the Off-Season
This seems like a no-brainer, right? Buy your swimsuit in September. Buy your fall jackets in early December. Buy those winter boots in March and those sweet spring skirts near Memorial Day. However, this is harder than you think. While you’re in the store on Memorial Day, for example, your mind isn’t on cool spring days or budding flowers. Your brain can’t wait for the beach, for summer barbeques, for camping trips. Your mind is on summer halters, flip-flops, and bikinis. Well, tell your brain to shut up! Look for light spring cardigans, spring dresses, flats, and other spring styles. In the fall, head for the tank tops, sandals, and beach cover-ups. Check out the fall tops, jackets, and jeans in December (and maybe find some bonus Christmas sales to add on to the previously discounted sale rack items). Look for sweaters and winter skirts in March. Don’t think of it as something you’re not going to wear. You can layer those fun tank tops in fall and winter. You can wear those cute sandals from the summer sale in early fall and again in late spring.
Go Shopping on Thursday Night
Thursdays are when the retailers are busy stocking the racks for the weekend crowds. If you shop on a Thursday night, you’ll get a huge selection without the weekend crowds or busy parking lots. As an added benefit, you’ll have something new and cute to wear out on the weekend.
