It’s possible to look posh and fashionable on a small budget. You just have to be smart and resourceful about it. Fashion is a form of self-expression. Every person should have the ability to express themselves no matter what budget they’re on. Figure out ways to get what you want without compromising your own personal style. It may take time and effort, but once you’ve assembled your ideal wardrobe, you’ll realize that it was completely worth every penny.

Ignore brands
When you’re shopping, ignore the brand name. Think about fashion in the sense of colors, shapes and how it flatters you. It’s easy to become a brand name snob. Sure, people can appreciate the quality and designs of a certain brand name; however, in the end, it depends on how you can make it look. So, instead of shopping for a specific brand name, look for items based upon their look. For example, you may want large over sized glasses. Find a discount pair that perfectly fits your face. Who knows? It may actually look even better than the expensive version.

Go secondhand
Visit auction sites and consider purchasing new or lightly used items. After all, the only person who knows they’ve been used will be you. Secondhand is a great way to find deep discounts on your ideal pieces.

Shop for basics
Even though you want that super shiny metallic multi-color dress, you may want to opt for something more versatile, such as a little black dress. Find pieces that can easily mix-and-match and can be worn multiple times without people even noticing. In the end, accessories can make the statement. So, stock up on diverse scarves and jewelry, but keep wardrobe to a minimum. Examples of foundation wardrobe pieces include the perfectly fitted denim, well fitted shirts and a nicely constructed purse that can be worn with nearly anything.
